Inlet, NY – Thousands gathered at Inlet’s Fern Park Saturday to celebrate the 20th anniversary of a classic Adirondack bike race, the Epic Outdoor Adventures Black Fly Challenge, presented by Pedals & Petals.
Under sunny skies spectators and racers cheered at the finish line while the band Showtime entertained. The food and beer, provided by Inlet Volunteer Emergency Services and Tri-Valley Beverage, flowed freely as a purse of over $9,000.00 with special prizes was awarded to 125 winners out of the record 800 entrants.
The BFC 2015 overall Women’s Champion was Rosanne Van Dorn, of Lake Placid, who defended her BFC 2014 title with a time of 2:08:05. (The race changes direction each year.) Donahue came in second overall with a time of 1:54:03.
